The Needlepoint Clubhouse

The Needlepoint Clubhouse is a friendly, fun, fashionable place to enjoy needlepoint and friends located at 717 N. New Ballas Road in St. Louis, MO.

The Clubhouse brings national teachers six times per year to the delight and creative joy of our customers in St. Louis and throughout the USA! David McCaskill, Susan Portra, SharonG, Jill Rigoli, Libby Sturdy, Meredith Willett, Debbie Stiehle, are the most knowledgeable and entertaining artists. Our customers are thrilled with their results when these artists teach them techniques they can use in class projects and all their needlework.

Needlepoint is contemporary. Our customers include several four-generation and three-generation families of needlepointers who come in together and stitch at one of our five friendly tables. Imagine great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and daughter learning, laughing and stitching together. It is a beautiful sight.

Girl Scouts, high school groups, and friends of all ages enjoy the fellowship of learning and stitching together to create needlepoint gifts, personal items and decor. Customers stop by during their day to sit and stitch for a while, learn a new thread or technique, visit with an old friend or make a new friend. Two evenings per week we stitch together until 7PM or 8PM.

Our Club Card offers maximum savings for classes, finishing and all full-price merchandise.
We offer more than 8000 fibers on our rainbow color wall which makes it more fun and much easier to thread your canvas. All of one color is right before you with as many as 20 different textures for each color family.

Beginning with yellow and graduating through orange, red, purple, blue, green brown, black and white, our rainbow color wall inspires stitchers of all levels of experience.

Our customers share ideas and a lot of laughs. One of our nicest compliments was when several of our Jewish customers conducted their gift exchange Monday night at The Clubhouse, the Monday before Christmas.

We created the first Judaic catalogue in St. Louis. All pages from each designer who offers Judaic designs, are in one place for our guests to peruse and find just the right tallis bag, yamulke, atara or seder plate. We offer the finest Judaic finishers in the country to make every piece an heirloom. Our inventory of canvases includes designers who live in Jerusalem and who offer the most stylish designs.

Home decor ideas for new canvases or stash canvases include new-style banners rather than bell pulls, trays rather than pillows, 3-D mountings rather than framing, easel-backs rather than pictures, stand-ups rather than ornaments, picture frames rather than pillows, leather waste cans for the library, adult-design night lights, computer cases and photo albums, leather umbrella stands, and more. Gifts for young people include key chains, CD-holders, small jewel cases, memory boxes, individual coasters rather than a set, bracelets, headbands, pins, drops for a necklace- we can put needlepoint on anything! And, the new 3-D finishes show off your beautiful work year-round. Young adults who are multi-task-minded find needlepoint a wonderful form of expression.

We offer Stash Rescue twice per month to find the most up-to-date use for canvases in the stash -a purse with two different sides, finished with fabric -an ornament becomes a coaster or CD holder or a little girl's first purse. We create a custom finish with lots of imagination!

We enjoy a wonderful relationship with the American Needlepoint Guild. We are happy to host their stitch-ins, share teachers, and provide special project kits of specialty threads all year round.

Our greatest challenge is bringing new people to the joy of needlepoint. Needlepoint is comforting. Needlepoint is creative but not a challenge. Needlepoint is good for those recovering from illness. Needlepoint is a positive expression of our ideas. Needlepoint is unique in a cookie-cutter world. Making things we love is a way to convey personal style.

Needlepoint is a productive way to enjoy a traffic light, sitting through a sports practice or event, waiting in car-pool line, airport endeavors, in-flight, recuperation, a rainy or snowy day or time with friends.

Welcome to The Needlepoint Clubhouse-where stitchers thrive!
